ECOS感受态细胞是由中国台湾Yeastern Biotech（益生生技）开发的，ECOS是E.Coli. One-Step transformation的缩写，换言之，它是一步法的转化。与传统的转化过程相比，最大的不同是省却了复苏的步骤。一般的转化都需要复苏，整个过程约需1-2小时。而ECOS跳过了复苏这一步，在1分钟转化过后直接涂板，因此过程大大简化。
